M81, M82 and Friends - May 28th 2022

Look near the Big Dipper and you'll find this group of galaxies also known as the M81 group, which contains 34 distinct galaxies. Pictured here are 6 of them. M81, M82, NGC 2976 and NGC 3077 all lie about 12 million light years away while NGC 2985 and NGC 3027 are 70 million and 80 millions light years away, respectively.
